You may encounter the following error in Multilogin when switching to dark mode for the first time:
The issue pertains to dark mode, which is not functioning properly in the desktop application. This article describes how to fix this issue.
Click on the “OK” button on the error pop-up
The easiest way to addres this issue is clicking on the button “OK” on the error pop-up and you can continue using Multilogin application without problem.
Adding/adjusting property of dark mode in the app.properties file
- Close Multilogin
- Navigate to \.multiloginapp.com folder, which is located in the user directory
- Windows: C:\Users\%username%\.multiloginapp.com
- macOS: /Users/%username%/.multiloginapp.com
- Linux: /home/%username%/.multiloginapp.com
To find this folder on Mac, open Finder and press Cmd + Shift + H
to open a user folder, then press Cmd + Shift + .
(period) to show hidden files. After that, go to the .multiloginapp.com/data folder.
- Open the app.properties file using any text editor such as “Notepad”
- Check if the property of darkmode
multiloginapp.darkmode.enabled
is in the file:- If this line is not presented, add it with the following format:
multiloginapp.darkmode.enabled = false
- If this line is presented with value
true
, change fromtrue
tofalse
- If this line is not presented, add it with the following format:
- Save the file and launch the app again. After that, you can manually change the dark/light mode in the user interface of Multilogin application.
