⭐ What is the difference between Multilogin 6 and Multilogin X?
Multilogin X is the next-generation app that offers improved performance, advanced automation, integrated proxies, AI-powered features, and enhanced team management tools. It’s designed to streamline your experience and provide greater flexibility.
Multilogin 6, on the other hand, is an older version that is now being phased out. Multilogin X includes many improvements and new features that aren't available in Multilogin 6.
⭐ Why should I switch to Multilogin X?
Upgrade to Multilogin X gives you access to:
- Advanced automation: enhanced automation that saves time and efforts
- Integrated proxies: built-in proxies of a high quality with a free bonus traffic top-up each month!
- Quick AI commands: for smarter and faster operation
- Advanced team management: four new team roles for better collaboration
- Robust antidetect protection: we test on 50+ websites to ensure the highest antidetect rates
- Updates: Multilogin X is constantly evolving with new features, while Multilogin 6 will soon be discontinued
The complete benefits list is too long – check it here if there are any concerns left! Multilogin X vs. Multilogin 6
⭐ Is it mandatory to switch to Multilogin X?
While it’s not strictly mandatory, we strongly recommend upgrading to Multilogin X. We will eventually phase out Multilogin 6 and provide only limited support for it going forward. For the best experience and to ensure compatibility with future updates, switching to Multilogin X is the best choice.
⭐ What exactly will be migrated?
The following will be migrated from Multilogin 6 to Multilogin X:
- Browser profiles
-
Profile data, including:
- Fingerprints (e.g., User-Agent, operating system, screen resolution)
- Settings (e.g., port scan protection toggle)
- Proxy details
- Metadata (profile name and ID)
- Session data (cookies, history, tabs)
- Profile notes
- Groups
- Team members (with Launcher permissions)
For better results, we advise organizing all the “Unassigned” profiles to a group before the migration.
⭐ What can't be migrated yet?
- Mobile profiles can’t be migrated, but we’re working on a solution for that
- Browser profiles older than December 2023
⭐ Will my fingerprints change during migration?
Your fingerprints will remain the same after migration, so your profiles will continue to work on target websites just like before. You can verify this using tools like browserleaks.com.
If you’re using “Noise” mode to mask WebGL or Canvas fingerprints, these hashes may change, but don’t worry—this is normal and won’t trigger bans or detections.
⭐ Can migration trigger bans or account restrictions?
We've tested the migration process extensively and haven’t encountered any issues with account restrictions. If your profiles were working well in Multilogin 6, they’ll be fully compatible with Multilogin X.
Pro tip: start by migrating just a couple of profiles to test the process yourself!
➡️ How do I prepare for migration?
Here’s what you need to do before migrating:
- Account info: make sure you remember your Multilogin 6 and Multilogin X account email and password (if you're already registered with Multilogin X).
- Group your profiles: organize profiles into groups of 1–100 profiles each
-
Launch profiles: all profiles in a group you want to migrate must be launched before the migration starts
➡️ Do I need a Multilogin X account?
If you already have a Multilogin X account with the same email as your Multilogin 6 account, the migration will happen smoothly.
If you don’t have a Multilogin X account yet, one will be automatically created for you during migration, using the same credentials you use for Multilogin 6.
➡️ Do I require an active subscription plan to migrate?
Yes, you’ll need an active Multilogin 6 subscription to complete the migration process.
➡️ Do I need to pay for Multilogin X subscription?
No, your existing Multilogin 6 subscription will be synched with Multilogin X app automatically.
➡️ What happens if I have over 100 profiles in a single folder?
We recommend placing up to 100 profiles in one folder. Here's why:
- Larger data sets: having over 100 profiles increases the data size, which can slow down migration and make it more time-consuming
-
Risk of corruption: if the connection is interrupted during migration, it could result in corrupted profiles
No more than 100 profiles in a group! For a smoother migration, try to organize your profiles into smaller folders or migrate in batches.
➡️ Do I need enough unused profile slots to migrate?
Yes, you’ll need to have enough empty profiles slots in your Multilogin X workspace to accommodate the profiles you’re migrating. If you don’t have enough space, you’ll need to delete some old profiles to free up slots before starting the migration.
🔛 How long does migration take?
On average, migrating a single profile takes between 10 seconds to 1 minute. The time depends on factors like your internet connection speed and how much data each profile contains. Profiles with more data (like large session histories or cookies) will take longer.
Make sure your internet connection is stable—once the migration starts, it’s best not to close or update the app until it’s finished.
🔛 Can I use Multilogin during migration?
- ✔️ Multilogin X is ready to use! You can start using migrated profiles or create new ones right away
- ❌ Multilogin 6 won’t be available for all users until migration is complete
🔛 Can I migrate a profile more than once?
No, you can only migrate each profile once. If you continue using a profile in Multilogin 6 after migrating it, any further changes won’t be synched to Multilogin X, which can lead to discrepancies or even account restrictions.
🔛 What if something goes wrong during migration?
If you experience any issues during migration, don't worry! Here are a few steps you can take:
- Double-check your export and import steps to ensure everything is done correctly
-
Contact support if the problem persists. Our team is available to help you resolve any issues and assist with troubleshooting
💡 How do I check the migration status?
During migration, you’ll see helpful instructions directly in the app. If you have a team, they’ll receive an email once the migration starts and finishes.
A migration report will automatically be sent to your account email, and you can download it directly from the app for troubleshooting. Additionally, the migrated profiles will be marked with a green checkmark in your Multilogin 6 account.
If something goes wrong, download the migration report and share it with the support team.
💡 What happens after migration is complete?
Once migration is finished:
- In Multilogin X, you can start using your profiles immediately
- In Multilogin 6, your profiles will remain unchanged, but they won’t synch with Multilogin X anymore. If you continue using them in both apps, you risk data discrepancies or account restrictions
💡 Can I keep using Multilogin 6 after migrating to Multilogin X?
Yes, you can continue using Multilogin 6 for now. However, please note that Multilogin 6 will receive limited support in the future and will be discontinued entirely soon. We encourage you to transition fully to Multilogin X to ensure you can access the latest features and receive full support.
